Here's a picture of GWB punching a guy in the face: I'm posting this under humour because left or right you gotta admit it's funny. I found this pic at www.thismodernworld.com, here is an excerpt: As long as we're re-examining the 1960s, looking for signs of character, trying to decide if a man who volunteered for combat and was decorated five times was more or less courageous than a guy who didn't even show up for his own medical exam... here's George W. Bush during his college...

For many years I struggled with the ideas of emotion and thought. I am, by nature, more emotional than most guys. And I do like to use the grey matter that I do have. Both characteristics have their good and bad points. Are emotions bad things? I don't think so, they are so human and the very essence of feeling. Should we try to control our emotions? There is a school of thought that we are responsible for our emotions (Rational Emotive Therapy), that only we can make ourselves happy o...

This is an editorial I found interesting, it was originally Published on Saturday, June 7, 2003 by the Toronto Star Bush's Credibility Founders on Iraq Editorial Saddam Hussein was no garden-variety despot, U.S. President George Bush told Americans earlier this year in his State of the Union address. He was a mass murderer, a terror master and a threat to world peace. Saddam was "assembling the world's most dangerous weapons," Bush insisted. His vast arsenal included 25,000 li...

From Statistics Canada 2001 Census Handbook: Link 5.4 Ethnic Origin With one exception (1891), decennial censuses since 1871 included a question on the “origins” of respondents. The purpose of the ethnic origin question is to collect data on the ethnic or cultural ancestry of the Canadian population. Comparability of ethnic origin data has been affected by several factors including changes in the question wording, format, examples, instructions and data processing, as well as by th...

From WikiPedia, the online encycolpedia: Link Multiculturalism or cultural pluralism is a policy, ideal, or reality that emphasizes the unique characteristics of different cultures in the world, especially as they relate to one another in immigrant receiving nations. The term was coined in Canada in the 1960s, but has since spread around the world. In dealing with immigrants groups and their cultures, there are essentially three approaches- Monoculturalism: In most Old World ...

Some people have short memories. They forget what happened the last time a VitriolBot badgered me for data to support my thesis. Part one of this post was inspired in part by Brad whining about taxes. It was also inspired by the Point Whores who have been attacking the less fortunate in order to score cheap points on the JoeUser board. I posited that American taxes are not nearly as low as they should be, partially on account of military spending. Military spending has increased because of...

Well my predictions were pretty far off. Here are the final numbers: LIB 135 36.71% CON 99 29.61% BQ 54 12.40% NDP 19 15.69% NA 1 .13% OTH 0 5.47% The Liberals and NDP are one vote short of a majority. Plus the Liberals may lose a vote if a Liberal is Speaker. The Conservatives and BQ can't form the required 155 seats either. So that leaves 'NA' holding the balance of power. NA is Link Chuck Cadman, a law and order guy who was elected as a Reform MP but for reas...

Today is a pretty good day for a Monday. "Sovereignty" has been passed to the Iraqis, and I think that's a step in the right direction. It's also election day in Canada, and the nest of thieves known as the Liberal Party is going to get a taste of democracy. Myself, I have a business meeting at 2PM with a prospective partner in my SuperSecret software project. Then at 6:30 I am going to my first football practice. I've volunteered to coach a minor football team. I've been looking to do ...

Meet Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin Jr.: Paul is getting his ass kicked in the current general election. Why is Paul getting his ass kicked? Mostly because the Liberal Party of Canada has been exposed as corrupt. After 3 successive majorities, though, you'd be pretty corrupt too. Anyhoo, this is a remarkable turnaround. I just had to post this picture. Link

Not sure if any of you have noticed but we're having one hell of an election up here in Canada. The ruling Liberals are getting clobbered and there is a real possibility of a Conservative minority government. For the record, I will be voting Conservative this year. Our current prime minister Paul Martin is more bought and paid by for and stage managed than George W., so I will be glad to see him exit stage left. Liberals spend public money without regard and I think its turning many non...
